Public lighting has an increasingly
important role to play in the quality of life and well-being of
the public. Research indicates that investment in good quality new
lighting to modern design standards can be more effective in cutting
crime than more expensive CCTV systems.
CCS
is experienced with all aspects of maintenance and improvement of
street lighting. This ranges from public lighting art to festive
lighting. We have carried out schemes to replace ageing lighting
stock with efficient modern units using the latest design software.
Working with the Royal College of Art, CCS has effectively translated
high modern art into real life schemes.
In addition, we have also carried out refurbishment schemes on heritage
lighting units such as the sturgeon lighting units on the Victoria
Embankment.
