We
aim to ensure that cycle and safety audits are undertaken on all
routes, and that all levels of usage are carefully measured. To
this end, the Project Management Team will encourage before and
after studies.
We will also work alongside TfL in collecting data from borough
cycle counters. Traffic management measures such as speed reduction
on minor roads will aim help to make the city more cycle friendly.
Traffic
management measures will help ensure greater priority and continuity
of routes for cyclists. Implementation of cycling schemes has
contributed to an increase in cycling rates. For example, morning
commuter cycle flows along the Seven Stations route in the London
Borough of Camden increased by over 100% between 2000 and 2003.
