| How
do I search through diagrams according to their appearance?
Faced with an unknown sign use the Query Diagrams drop-downs to
select appearance characteristics that best match the sign. The
sign in the diagram database can be queried in terms of:
- Type – a general classification of signs which follows
closely the Schedules within the Traffic Signs Regulations and
General Directions (TSRGD) 2002.
- Background Colour – the colour used for the background
of the sign
- Border Colour – the colour used around the edge of
the sign
- Shape – the signs shape
- Text – text included in the sign
- Symbols – symbols included in the sign
Click Find to perform a query of the diagram database.
Diagrams that match the appearance characteristics selected will
be displayed in the viewing window on the left.
If more than one diagram matches your query use the Next
Image and Previous Image buttons to view
each diagram in turn.
If the number of diagram numbers matching your query is too high,
make use of additional query drop-downs and click Find again
to narrow down the list of possible matches further.

Can
Traffic Signs Regulations work with AutoCAD?
The current version of TSR does not interact with AutoCAD. However,
it does give you all information which you need to make sure the
design of a sign is compliant with Traffic Signs Regulations and
General Directions 2002 (TSRGD 2002).
While this is true, future versions of the software will integrate
relevant chapters of Traffic Sign Manual ( i.e.. Chapter 7
the Design of Traffic Signs) via an AutoCAD Plug-in.
The current version is aimed towards the primary document only (
TSRGD 2002), and does not provide interaction with any other design
software.
